So here's an interesting thought: With all the Russia-phobia going on, figure on this...

The people who made Everquest, 989 Studios, a spin off of Sony Online Entertainment. They had a brief time as RedEye before becoming Verant Interactive. That was shortlived because it was purchased by Columbus Nova (sold as Sony Online Entertainment). Once purchased, it was renamed to DayBreak (the company name associated with Everquest now).

Columbus Nova is an affiliate of the Renova Group, a Russian investment company primarily invested in things like oil, minerals, mining, etc.

As of 2015, the CEO of Columbus Nova is Andrew Intrater who, in 2017, donated $285,000 to Trump's inauguration fund.

I mean, if we're looking for Russians behind every corner and under every bed, I think I found a few.
