Maybe. Although, I'd be surprised if Russia didn't attempt to interfere in our elections. If they just did it through social media -- it may be seen as illegal in our eyes, but I would guess that it didn't break any Russian laws (and if we had done it to Russia, it wouldn't have broken any US laws, either. Propaganda is not generally illegal. It is no longer even illegal to use propaganda domestically in the US.)

Maybe it wasn't the state of Russia that interfered. Maybe it was the Russian mob. Wouldn't surprise me to find out that Trump has mob ties (he is in real estate in New York, for heaven's sake) -- so I'm sure there are some tie ins between the NY mob and the Russian mob.

The whole thing, honestly, seems like a red herring. Someone interfered in the election. The election process was rigged (at least on the Democratic side). Worrying about Russia gets us to take the focus off of all that was not kosher about our election process. Stuff that had NOTHING to do with Russia and everything to do with the moneyed elite who own all of our politicians.
