A reply from my online supplier:

About the fda statement ? It's just their opinion if it was to be banned the de a not the f d a would need to reschedule it . The Aka and bea have attorneys working on it so it's not banned now and probably would take a while if we fail at fighting it . I think it'll be ok . I will forward you the Aka response to the statement If youd like ?

ChangingPerspectives

Omg!! And all to synthesize the alkaloid for a $200 pill!! I’m devastated!

Cheesebooger

I do what I want to do. FUCK THE (((GOV)))

MrEvilPirate

Anybody try this stuff?

Runaway-White-Slave

Regularly, probably don't go through more than about 4 grams in a 24 hour period on a bad day, don't mix with other drugs or alcohol, and have no adverse reactions.

And I suffer from a well documented degenerative spinal condition because of a work injury or I probably wouldn't mess with it.

tendiesonfloor

Daily. If you dial it in right you can be significantly more productive.

Joe10jo

Yes! I’m a mother of four who’s taken it several times a day for several years. It isn’t addictive or anything. It’s like caffeine, just different. I take it for energy and to ease my early morning arthritis. I’m super pissed right now!

MrEvilPirate

Do u order online? Perhaps vendors have not caught up with change of status and it is still available. I would like to get some

Its_Just_A_Ride

Yeah, several times. Its not as fun as you'd expect an opiate to be. You just feel relaxed and a little stimulated at medium doses. Higher doses cause nausea and digestive issues from all the powdered leaf. The effects are like a cup of coffee, and you get a "warm body" sensation for a few hours.

Its also worth mentioning that the stuff is by far the least addictive opiate I've ever come across (not that I've tried many). Pretty much every other opiate will be both more fun, and more addictive than kratom.

All that said, its not really worth the money unless you're trying to quit pain pills or heroin.

Runaway-White-Slave

except it's not an opiate, or opioid. Also it's also a good substitute for pain pills unless you're extremely screwed up.

Its_Just_A_Ride

except it's not an opiate, or opioid.

Good catch, I always confuse those two words.

MrEvilPirate

Thanks

RickFlairWOOOOOO

It's a natural SSRI. That said I would stay away. Thats the stuff that makes people kill themselves and go on shooting sprees.

PrettyBigDouche

What? What a load of crap. Back to reddit retard.

RickFlairWOOOOOO

Your a pretty big douche Fag Maggot.

PrettyBigDouche

Admittedly, I am. And you're a dope.

RickFlairWOOOOOO

Just mad because Im talking about shit I know nothin about.

Its_Just_A_Ride

SSRI

Do you know which alkaloid has the SSRI properties? I've heard rumors about this for years but I've yet to find a solid source talking about it.

RickFlairWOOOOOO

no. Not a ethnobotanist or anything. Just download the interned into my head periodically.

Its_Just_A_Ride

Not a ethnobotanist or anything.

lol No worries, neither am I.

SayTan

No it isn't. Nothing at all like morphine or opium. Are they gonna close the bar?

I agree the effects are nothing like hard opiates, but strictly speaking, kratom does contain opiate agonists.

It pisses me off that the FDA feels the need to control that people put in their bodies. What really infuriates me is when the FDA restricts access to drugs that can actually help people break their dependance on much worse drugs.

Fact is, kratom as a powdered leaf has its own built-in anti-abuse system. The leaf is really hard on the digestive system, and you have to take grams of the powder to get an effect, even with no tolerance. So people that try and abuse the stuff generally just end up puking the stuff back up. The only people that continue to use those high doses are those that would have nausea anyway, from the withdrawals caused by other drugs they're trying to get off of.

cosmic_climb

According to wiki it's an NMDA antagonist and u-opioid agonist. Personally I wouldn't use it. All the active compounds have two or more methoxy groups, which fuck with microtubule polymerization.

Its_Just_A_Ride

Thanks for bringing some science into the discusion. Id still risk it if I had to get off of painkillers, but I agree that its generally not a good substance to consume.

Waiyu_Dudat

You have my attention. Where can I learn why this is a health issue?

My searches return stuff a bit beyond my comprehension. I'm more of an armchair scientist than legit. So it doesn't have to be dumb, I'd like to know what you're talking about.

cosmic_climb

This is a good primer.

I frequent that forum. As he says, all microtubule dissolving molecules have methoxy groups and from my limited searching, methoxy groups on a benzene ring, such as in colchicine, make them particularly potent.
