Part of the reason why cannabis and shrooms were made illegal as well, those natural substances can help break free of social conditioning by the globalist elite and the media

Graham Hancock fan here. TED did actually reinstate the talk later, it's no longer banned. Graham and some other guy who's talk was also labelled "Pseudo-Science" appealed and won.

If you like the kind of stuff that Graham talks about, he as done 3 podcasts on the Joe Rogan Experience. He gets way more into detail into stuff like this.

figeater

As i recall TEDX (not quite the same as TED) not only reinstated the talk, but offered a pretty big apology as well regarding the removal.

I think the other guy was Rupert Sheldrake, who has also done a few Joe Rogan interviews, plus a Google talk as I recall. Worth a look IMO.

deathcomesilent

That's good to hear, because I have seen some outright dangerous misinfo on TEDx. If this guy got his talk pulled, there's a few dozen that should have been pulled first. I'm glad he got things straitened out.

Having studied paleoanthropology I found the early remarks regarding the use of psychedelics and the associated explosions in art to be fascinating. I hadn't come across this idea before.

Dysnomia

Really? I'm an amateur anthropologist and I've known of the psychedelic origins of indigenous art patterning since my teens. I guess I can't find any mention of it though now that I'm scouring the web for evidence of this knowledge I've had for so long. I think I read it while researching native american blanket patterns and the author brought up mescaline visions.

Esit: If you find any cool academic articles about this please let me know!

vicarious

Fascinating idea indeed, it's all in his book Supernatural: Meetings with the Ancient Teachers of Mankind .

drbarke

One of the best books I've ever read. I'm so excited for Magicians of the Gods to come out.

Planet_Robe

Wow, his concluding statements gave me goosebumps.

reconstructedcaribou

I've yet to see a TEDx that isn't incredibly amateurish or just spoken op-ed pieces.

Crux

This one is pretty solid.

drbarke

Have you watched this one? It's spot on.

Graham Hancock: Drugs is good.

Ted : nope.

gryph0n

LOL that isn't even his message though

cosmicshotgun

sry, let me better articulate my statement in order the increase the accuracy of Graham Hancock's nuanced argument for the reestablishment of psychedelics into western society.

Graham Hancock: Aye Sm0ke DMT lmao
