"They Live" was released in 1988.

My god, it's almost as if science fiction writers play off each others' work.

talmoridor-x

Or that art imitates reality

fartyshorts

They Live is from 1988 though.

Smartech

OK. We still have three identical stories.

Stephen King even ripped off Nelson's story title. What an asshole.

This is a difficult topic:

Sometimes the enemy puts this information out to discredit researchers, and to lull the public into a sense of security.

Sometimes, smart people who are attuned to the world, via the sixth sense of empathy, pick up these things, put them to paper, and warn the vanguard of society about their fears.

There is a way to determine the case: You investigate the people making these stories. I am not too sure about john carpenter or ray nelson, but steven king is in my opinion a compromised person.

Regardless, this concept of a stealth invasion is not new, and is a fear that should never leave our minds.

Could you tell us what you mean by saying Steven King is "compromised." I am not disagreeing, but am simply not sure what you mean. Upvoted nevertheless for being interesting.

senpaithatignoresyou

I think king is a CIA asset, at the very least a propaganda tool.

jervybingly

He fits the profile.

JesusRules

They Live are Jews

If you are interested, there is also the 1955 "The Body Snatchers" by Jack Finney, with the movie made in 1956. Also the 1959 "The Manchurian Candidate" by Richard Condon with the movie made in 1962. It simply can't be a coincidence.
