don't buy it. think Trump was allowed/manipulated into the presidential race to 1) contain and sheepdog the conservative vote, subtly discredit the movement by proxy 2) make Hillary look good by comparison and give her freebie campaigning talking points without having to offer anything or defend her own track record. I think Trump was in on it from the beginning, his endgame was probably a TV news channel, a Rothschild payday and being able to claim he was right and ''oh, if only people had voted for me!'' after an eventual Hillary victory.

problem is Seth Rich/Wikileaks happened, the people took a huge leap of faith with Trump which could not swept under the carpet, Trump could not back down. Hence Plan B that kicked off around noon on November 9th, discredit Trump as much as possible, inner sabotage by former administration loyalists, Russian allegations to explain the ''surprising'' election results, etc.
