i've used 4kvideodownloader before. you can get video or just audio. handy for getting music mp3's off YT

Try Hooktube.com - just replace the (you)tube.com/whatever with (hook)tube.com/whatever and it loads the video without youtube tracking you. It also gives you mp4 or webm download options.

YouTube Red will actually delete a downloaded video if it's taken down- if you happen to escape Wi-Fi long enough you could hold it in your device but the second Wi-Fi connects it will sync the contents and remove things----

I generally use YTD to download videos and convert to mp3s ... but it'll work for what you need. Just need the storage space and you're golden.
