What if the 3-day 503 message was to collect stats about bots? ( conspiracy )

Bots would keep retrying to access the site more frequently than real users would. Poorly written bots would do the refreshing at even intervals.

If @puttitout used his session cookies and a logger, he would have a nice little database of all the poorly scripted bots.

This would go along with the fact that people can't delete their accounts any more.

My first thought was this was just another half-assed hack when putt was away. But this theory fits better with what I know now.

If you want to make a sneaky bot you can't use the API. Only good bots like @derram use the API.

I am 70% sure voat is a honeypot for our enemy. I doubt it is the other way around because it would be extremly hard to control a site you cant censor. I think they track shills and their activity. I think the downtime was a false flag by our guys to track the deep state shills (regular shills were pulled) and to eliminate them or cut their proxy access (Armenia).

I would write a script to randomize the retry on fail.

TDD/BDD testing for programing makes writing bots super simple. Not too complex in logic but you could do a lot.

You could write a TDD bot with only about 10-20 lines on top of the testing framework and you could spam somebody’s inbox easily.

in general if it leaves an electronic record, theirs a way a moderator can use it find and kill bot accounts
