What was the purpose of the MH370 mystery? What's the general consensus here about what really happened? ( conspiracy )

Was the obsessive CNN coverage all about ratings, or was it a distraction? Was the plane shot down? Intentionality sabotaged? This happened in 2014.. the Newtown event happened the same year, though I doubt the are related. It's very clear what the purpose of the 'shootings' are.

IIRC Scientists on plane worked for r child, owned patent. Now they don’t and r child does.

I think it landed at Diego Garcia and the passengers were unloaded then the plane was remote launched and sent due north without enough fuel to reach land. As for the passengers, probably murdered, possibly enslaved.
