My mom was super into obscure Operas and what have you, and I wanted to know what they were about so she told me. Then all the nun aunts chimed in with additional disturbing anecdotes, but that's another story. I'm glad you made me feel compelled to search for what taught me of this story - I've not heard this music in probably over 4 decades.
