The leftists made a concerted effort to suppress knowledge of the 61,911,000 estimated murders in the Soviet tyranny, and the 76,702,000 by Chinese Communism, not to mention the lethal tolls of lesser regimes. The emergence of solid evidence in the 1960s made the facts impossible to deny, so leftist intellectuals adopted the strategy of denying the very possibility of truth, and former strident Communists hid behind the smoke-screen of Postmodernism.

Even now, intellectuals attempt to defend Communism by rationalizing that its death toll was an unintended side-effect of good intentions, "unfortunate excesses", while the Nazi genocide was categorically worse on the basis that it was deliberate. Murder is murder, and defending or denying it makes you complicit.

Just recently learned of Holodomor from voat. I can't believe I've been on this earth for over 30 years and just learned about this. Never heard a word about it in school or all the war movies and docs. It really helps explain Hitler's action and (at least to me) viewed him in a different way. Greatest Crime Against Humanity in history and (((they))) want the world to forget about it.
