This article is in the liberal Houston Chronicle so is a bit tainted against independent minded concerned citizens.

Many of us in Texas do not trust what our Federal Government has become.

That Jade Helm 15 is utilizing US Special Operators and regular forces for war game scenarios in their described "hostile" territory of Texas may not be the beginning of government imposed martial law but they will certainly be refining their skills and tactics should it ever be attempted by some demigod politician or general.

Also, we see many, many federal law enforcement agencies arming up to near military levels of equipment and fire power. Why does the BLM, EPA, USPS and IRS need tactical teams as an example.

That many of our citizens, in addition to the Texas Guard, are going to monitor Jade Helm 15 in the absence of heretofore normal media over-site should be comforting to all except those Big Centralized Government lovers and proponents whether they be Democrats or Republicans.

It's good you guys are keeping an eye on it.

The purpose of Jade Helm is to acclimatize Americans to seeing military forces in their communities.

A few years from now when a 22 year-old Sargent politely asks to see your U.S. Government identification before you enter the Schlitterbahn Water Park with your kids, nobody will think twice about it. Incrementalism.
