World War 1 was started in order to break up the Ottoman Empire, only after that did the zionists feel like they would be able to take Palestine for themselves. What is now Syria was controlled by the French with Britain controlling most of the lands to the south. (((They))) ran into significant problems during the 1920's in so far as the local muslims actually put up a fight against their would be (((rulers))) and the British Mandate government. In 1923 France further carved the land along the Golan Heights giving this territory to Syria while allowing only muslim immigration. In May 1930 Syria declared independence from France and was given control over the Alawite region in the north and Druze region in the south.

Previously in the 1920's Poland and The Soviet Union worked out a deal which saw the exportation of hundreds of thousands of jews to Poland many were small business owners of which were now banned in USSR. This group soon formed political parties, holding their first convention in 1920 the General Jewish Labour Bund in Poland at which the Jewish Social Democratic Party was absorbed to form a large jewish voting bloc in Poland. Fast forward to August 26, 1939, the party signed the joint statement of socialist parties in Poland, calling for the people to fight against Hitlerism, in effect officially declaring war against Germany. Five days later Hitler responded to their threats by launching a preemptive strike in Poland. No more than a month passed and Poland caved, with Germany and USSR splitting the territory. The Soviets took exception to the leaders of the Jewish Bund and put (((them))) to death.

Shortly after World War 2 the Israeli Paramilitaries known as Lehi and Irgun began using terrorism against the British governate that was over seeing the establishment of Israel. Two Lehi members traveled to Cairo to assassinate the British Emissary, Lord Walter Guinness. The Lehi members followed the ambassador's vehicle to his home, (((they))) killed everyone in the car. The assassins were put on trial and sentenced to death by hanging.
