His real name was Nicholas Weir. He was a man of Irish-Scots-English descent, and he died back in 2013. He was quite active online in the late 1990's, early 2000's. Each passing year, his claims would become more and more grandiose, and some people called him a fraudster. There is no doubt that he and Laurence Gardner, who he did some work with, were historians/writers with some connections, there were accusations that they misinterpreted and "borrowed" much of their material. They were wannabe royals, and they had a small following online for a while.
