Your title is not true. I saw a quick mention of this on a CBS Evening news program. But yes, it was glossed over pretty quick.

GizaDog

Funny. The title is from the page I linked to.

That's strange. When I follow your link the title is:

U.S. cardinal steps down amid widening sex abuse scandal

GizaDog

Strange. I did not know someone made you the title police.

When did that happen and by whom??

Trying to distract with an ad hominem doesn't change the fact your self-edited post title is incorrect. Not only did at least one US broadcast news network have a report on it, but (depending on your definition of MSM) Reuters is a globally recognised news agency in business for over 150 years and you linked to it. Your own link disproves your inaccurate title addition. I'm going to assume you dislike the amount of fake news being put out, why add to it?

thisistotallynotme

underrated post.

U.S. cardinal steps down amid widening sex abuse scandal | Reuters

'VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Pope Francis on Saturday accepted the resignation of Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, one of the U.S. Catholic Church’s most prominent figures, who has been at the center of a widening sexual abuse scandal. '

'Other cardinals who have been disciplined in sexual abuse scandals kept their membership in the College of Cardinals and their honorific “your eminence”. '

'McCarrick, 88, the former archbishop of Washington, D.C., is the first cardinal in living memory to lose his red hat and title. '

'In 2013, Cardinal Keith O’Brien of Scotland recused himself from participating in the conclave that elected Francis after he was caught up in a sexual abuse scandal involving seminarians. '

'He later renounced rights and privileges of being a cardinal but kept his red hat and title until his death earlier this year. '
