His family plays off his gaffes as his sense of humor, but its more likely that Prince Philip suffered a TBI because he was on Lord Mountbattens yacht on the night the IRA blew it up.

Traumatic Brain Injury. The same blast basically took off Lord Montbattens legs. A couple other people were injured too. Its just that Prince Phillip was never formally acknowledged as being there at the time.
