COINTELPRO doesn't create political movements... It infiltrates and subverts political movements. It's COUNTERintelligence... it's a means with which to derail any movement that becomes a threat to the status quo. They infiltrate a group and then co-opt the message in favor of an existing agenda. Most of the encounters with BLM activists I've had online were as a result of sharing information about abuse and murder of Palestinians. And believe it or not, SEVERAL of those users' accounts were swept up in the "russian bot" purge of social media. NONE of them posted anything in relation to the Presidential race in favor of Donald Trump. There are even a few BLM activists who pointed it out.
