30 years ago you could believe most of the news. Now I can't believe 50 % of local news and none of the Main stream media. It's still hard to find news on your own because of the 100's of fake little setup desks and suit guys acting like they are the news.

Well that's before the Deep State purchased all of the news organizations one by one until they owned them all

Because of this there was far more concern for ethical and journalistic standards. There is a long history of "yellow press" and tabloid news, and as a result of that the public generally came to understand the difference. Go find a NYTimes from the 1950's and be shocked at how different the reporting is.

The press has always had agendas and been subject to lack of information or disinformation, but that's one of the reasons it developed rules and standards and some degree of transparency. The main problem historically has been in how they define what is "news" and what is not. Today, they will report events but in such a ridiculous manner that there's no point in reading it at all. If the news used to be a 5/10, today it is a 2/10 at best.

Yes, that was the golden age of propaganda. It's being pushed harder now, especially the fake left/right paradigm, but it's less effective for a couple of reasons.

  1. The meta viewers see through the partisan politics to the ones pulling the strings above. Tucker Carslon is controlled opposition to some flake on the left. Fox is controlled opposition to CNN, etc.

  2. The amount of information has exploded and although most of it is still misdirection/propaganda, there are pockets of real truth here and there for the really determined to seek out.

It also could be the sources of news much more limited. We didn't have access to the AP but news centers and papers did. It could be two that the reported news was driven by facts versus excitement salaciousness and money and ratings. Ask Dragnet, the facts were pretty boring. I am so happy that world citizens cashier events and commentary on those events and it honest fashion. Opinion or spin presented as facts is what's killing mainstream news

AP is fake news owned by the Rothschilds.

they used to have real competition, which made a big fucking difference.

It's easy to trust something when it plays into your beliefs. Years of "programming", starting when they were kids, ensures that adults march to a single drumbeat.

gman225

it seems that we need to return back to the way we found the truth and that is to gather as much info as possible by all means and do the work yourself

That's more or less how newspapers began. Each town had several competing and one result was that you had to report the news with some degree of accuracy if you wanted anyone to bother reading your paper. Now that the "news" industry in terms of acceptable reporters-of-record is a monopolistic and corporate endeavor it has declined dramatically.

What seems strange is that hundreds of millions of people STILL EXPLICITLY DO THIS even if they say they don’t.

And as we came to find out. Those cable news "programs" worked perfectly.

Empire_of_the_mind

cable news did not exist prior to the 1980's and really only became a thing in the 1990's
