  2. This article says waves are created by wind, which doesn’t prove anything about the shape of the earth, and tides. Tides are only theorized to be caused by the moon. The moon theory has many holes in it, one being that not a single lake of any size has tides. Is the moon selective and only has the power over large bodies of water and not small bodies? Since even the globe earthers don’t have a solid reason for tides, tides do not prove the shape of the earth in my eyes.

Also, the order of Creation doesn’t even make sense from globe heliocentric logic. If we rotate around the sun because of gravity, how is it God created the sun after the earth? Also, how is it God put the Sun, moon, and stars IN the firmament if indeed we live on a spinning globe earth shooting through space? Last I heard, scientists say the sun, moon, and stars are outside our atmosphere. Even if you believe the firmament is the “sky,” you’d still have to have the sun/moon/stars in our sky, which makes no sense from a globe perspective.

I've watched various videos on people trying to prove the Earth is flat, and none of the arguments hold up. Whats the best piece of evidence you have to refute the claim that the Earth is Round?

The viewpoint claim can be argued against (not proven, unless you go up and see it all for yourself to know for a personal fact) when you factor in how far off the ground you are in proportion to the size of the planet. looking at this image here it can be argued that planes don't get far enough from the ground to have a discernible impact on the view of the horizon. Most planes have a cruising height around 35K to 40K feet, whereas the curvature of the planet supposedly becomes noticeably visible around 60K feet. If I ever get to that altitude and get to look down, I'll make sure to post a photo to prove if I'm right or wrong.

Do I know for a fact that the Earth isn't flat? No. I'm skeptical of just about everything I haven't seen with my own eyes. What I'm waiting for is irrefutable proof before I start claiming a planet wide conspiracy occurring.

Look at page 4 on this paper which goes into the mathematical explanations of calculating the curvature of the horizon (Which would be the curve of an arc length). The curve that would occur on a spherical surface is calculable when multiple variables are factored in. If the measurements are accurate (that the radius is ≈ 3000 miles), then the curve of the Arc (in this paper, the symbol is S, or sagitta) is calculable by the equation S = R - (R^2-x^2)^(1/2). As for what is considered a discernible S amount is incredibly subjective (at what point do you see an Arc Curve on a circle? What is the Arc Length before you see a irrefutable curve in the line?).

It is also worth noting that the S value you get will be a non value of sorts, as it references to an Arc Length, which is derived from a degree and the radius. This also deals with Calculus and by proxy trigonometry, and I will openly state that proving Calculus to be accurate is above and beyond my levels of understanding in mathematics. I'd be happy to see a Professor in Mathematics step in at that point to discuss the concept.

The distance between the North Star and Earth is 323 light years, which is equivalent to 1,898,796,000,000,000 miles (roughly 2 Quadrillion Miles away). TO be able to travel far enough away to see a noticeable difference in the North star, you would have to move farther than 185.92 million miles in a straight direction. Seeing as how the Earth is only 7 thousand miles across, achieving this task would be impossible while staying on the surface of the planet, especially if the hypothesis that the planet is round is accurate.

Another thing to factor in from that video is the fact that the solar system as a whole as a trajectory as well, which can also explain why the North Star hasn't changed locations. If we are flying in the direction towards the Star, then we would not be able to see a noticeable difference in the star's location in our sky.

This article talks about the time it will take for constellations to begin to warp but the time that they are talking about goes into the 50,000 year to 100,000 year time frame, which would make any record of visible distortion impossible since recorded human history goes back less than 10,000 years ago. This article also explains with sufficiently precise equipment (i.e. a satellite or telescope), we can record the minute changes of stars in the sky.
