I'm not a doctor but I am a pharmacist. I haven't read this article yet but I do have a theory as to why this might start happening on a regular basis. There is a shift that is happening amongst medical professionals. I can only speak for pharmacists and doctors that I work with/speak to on a regular basis. The acceptance of alternative medicine, including marijuana, is an increasing threat to big pharma. I have seen many prominent physicians shunned by thier peers for pushing "radical" ideas when they are in fact backed by sound literature. Before someone freaks out as ususal when I bring this up, this is not to say modern medicine doesn't work or doesn't help millions of people every day. There does seem to be a shift occuring though.
