I really like the comment he made about how the moral code was passed through religion.

I find it difficult to believe in the literal religions, any of them, but fables and parables are not lost on me, I recognize the moral code and voluntarily adhere to them to be able to exist peacefully within, what I consider to be, a moderately sane society. I don't know if religion is the answer, but I would definitely agree that an "agreed upon moral code" is necessary.

The military, for example.. when you join it doesn't matter if you are religious or not, you WILL follow the rules and you WILL honor your Country. Period. Dissent is available but those standards are not negotiable... price of admission, I find no fault in that.
