you could be on to something here.

but where there are houses there are Cars too.. with a hot exhaust and filled to the brim with combustible oils. the cars alone could have fueled the fire. the wind carried the heat from the cars exhaust into the brush and made it burn.

my theory is they put flammables into unattended cars exhausts, the cars left a trail of gasoline and the whole road started on fire from the heat of the cars exhaust. or some rogue mechanics put flammables into the engine.

The fires were setup by a decade of retarded vegetation management, which was the root cause of the size.
