Transhumanists. The end game population replacement.

We should genetically modify humans so that they can't cross borders illegally :DDDD

Genetic engineering of plants and animals have been done for as long as humans knew how to grow food.
We never needed expensive machinery or techniques, selective breeding of the best plants made for improved yield and better resistance against certain diseases. The same was done with animals, the strongest or the one with the most meat was breed with other specimens of with the same characteristics.

The same happened with humans, the strongest survived and reproduced. The most intelligent and creative survived and reproduced. We have never needed to edit our genes, and we do not know what will happen when we do. We can breed the perfect human if we want to, but it might hinder evolutionary traits that does not exist yet from developing. Even worse if we edit/delete genes that was supposed to become a new trait in a future generation. Still removing certain diseases might be preferable in order to remove it from the gene pool.

I cannot see what the future will bring, will AI kill us off or will humanity "enhance" itself out of existence? Will we become an entirely new species with cloning vats as the only way to procreate? What are we, and what will we become?
