It amazes me that one of the great crimes/tragedies of the century was committed by Allied forces (chiefly Soviets, and also the USA to a lesser degree), at the end of WW2. Virtually every German female from 8 to 80 (and many outside that range) were repeatedly and brutally raped, with a recorded 230,000 deaths caused directly from those rapes. The German people were absolutely the victims in numerous ways. But you will never hear about it because of obvious reasons.

I read his book about three or four years ago. I had an ENORMOUS influence on me. Y'all gotta read it. Get the Kindle version -- it's not expensive, damn it!
