I always told me children that many years ago St. Nick, aka Santa Claus, was a very nice man that liked to give gifts to children. However, he got so overwhelmed with the requests for gifts that he set aside only one day a year to give gifts. He chose the most important day of the year, the day we celebrate the birth of Jesus.
In honor of his kindness and his love for Jesus, we follow the tradition of giving gifts on the most special day of the year, the day we celebrate Jesus’ birth. I never wanted my children to think that I tricked them, or worse - that I lied to them, about Santa and the true meaning of Christmas. I never wanted my children to question if Jesus was real, or if He was just another lie told to little kids. I have a beautiful figurine that I sit out every Christmas of Santa kneeling and praying next to the baby Jesus. Jesus is the reason for the season! Merry Christmas!
