This endless telegraphing ; "we're gonna [semi-specific revelation] real soon now !" is theatrical at best and conspiratorial at worst.

This Hollywood-like hype does nothing to bring justice or harm the criminals . It does :
1. Tip off the bad guys.
2. Give them time to implement disclaimers or diversionary statements.
3. Endanger sources and operatives without tangible effect on the 'enemy' .

Throwing away the element of surprise is rarely a good tactic.
