I think it has to do with them trying to avoid talking about radicalized Muslims being domestic terrorists or something like that. They bend over backward to avoid the elephant in the room, even though lone wolf attacks are exactly what we should be expecting.

Its pretty simple really, this is actually news, therefor the MSM does not report it.

Everything is hidden to a degree. Most of the news is simply a distraction from the real things going on in the world that should take greater precedence to the public.

Interesting. My thought was that the attacker could be related to a prominent family in one of our Gulf Arab "ally" countries. As opposed to some no-name Chechens last time.

It was national news until they knew the suspects name and got a picture of him. Personally, I think that since it wasn't an angry white guy mad about the flag debacle (its Tennessee) then they really couldn't get many clicks. But then again, I'm not that smart.

As of this post it's frontpage on cnn.com, MSNBC.com, and foxnews.com.

As far as the news sites go, maybe their seeing that covering violence is not slowing violence so their going in a different direction? Maybe their doing what journalist are meant to do and getting all the facts. I'm optimistic but maybe. I did see CNN and MSNBC cover the shooting briefly, I live in Chattanooga and knew it happened 30 min to an hour after it happened, but nothing more.
