The Stars and Bars flag has had it's historical meanings, however, what does it mean today? Despite first being the flag of the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia and, more recently, a symbol of the Confederate States (read: states' rights over federal rights), today, barring official/historical displays, it seems to merely represent white power and a wish for "the good old days". I use the car decals as beacons to identify idiots. Regardless, your speech/opinion "should be" protected as per the Constitution. Banning the displaying of the Stars and Bars is not only illegal, but also ineffective as the racism that it symbolizes is not addressed.

I have family in the Hmm. I don't think this way. But I have family in th KKK and I can tell you the know alot about the flag and that it was never really used. Hell most are not even the burn the cross in the yard type. The people who go to the KkK is more afraid being breed out of the human race. But there is little you can do to change their minds. And this just makes them worst really. Just feeding their hate not stopping it.

for the same reason that is why it can't fly over the state govt building. all the rest is bullshit and you're right.

Except that is wasn't flying "over the state govt building". It was flying over a civil war memorial on state grounds.

In 2000, more than 45,000 people marched in Columbia demanding the flag be removed, but a compromise relocated the flag from the capitol dome to a 30-foot flagpole at the Confederate war memorial on the statehouse lawn.
