Why rich people hire mercenaries as bodyguards? ( conspiracy )

I wonder why rich people hire bodyguards? Bodyguards are just mercenaries. If somebody wants to harm a richie, the first thing he will do is buy the bodyguards off. Why richies keep hiring these mercenaries? Rich doesn't mean intelligent.

!: Blood Money; Once you have made your money, it dawns on them that it is blood money. They have fucked over a large amount of people to secure material wealth and acquisition. Its like Zuckerberg. He has all that money but he will never be able to walk down any street ever again.

2: To help them get rid of evidence and people. Bodyguards over time, end up being a way and method to destroy evidence and "disappear" people.

3: Ego; they become so psychopathic and so wrapped up in their own bullshit, that they have convinced themslves that they need a bodyguard.

4: so that they never have to deal with the "real" world; they use their security detail to bubble-wrap, and insulate themselves from the rest of the population.

Apart from numerous Roman Emperors murdered by the Praetorian Guard there is a loooooooong list of those who were allegedly murdered by bodyguards in modern times, not limited to John F Kennedy, Indira Gandhi and Yitzhak Rabin .. more recently musician Chris Cornell seems to have been done in by a BG, while some say Rolling Stones founding member Brian Jones was also killed by his bodyguard.
