Something bad happened with the writers in Hollywood ( conspiracy )

You may remember that since the 70's, even the movies promoting bullshit had great writing. Today, movies are not like that anymore. No matter what's the plot, 99% of the writing is unwatchable crap, no matter how good the director and actors are.

To make it in Hollywood you pretty much have to be born into it and talent isn't always inherited. Not to mention being born into that system you are totally out of touch with mainstream audiences. That is why they started film festivals, not to find new talent but to steal their material.

The bad guys are white Christians now and there's always people of other races inauthentically acting like white people. Not to mention the transgender and lgbt themes being pushed on us.

Also if you watch a enough TV you'll notice certain new phrases or terms are used in dialogue which were previously uncommon, but suddenly they're being used across diff TV shows, news, etc.

In the 60s and earlier movies appealed to a high IQ white audience. Movies now appeal to the growing mass of idiots. Also they're dumbed down so they're easier to understand in foreign markets.

To put it simply, you aren't the target demo anymore.

Good point about the IQ thing. I think most older media was higher quality. Books, newspaper articles, journalism, film, were all produced at a sort of higher standard, it seems.

Now there's wayyyy more. Netflix et al have hundreds of hours of shit to rot your mind to, news is all bullshit, there are shitty articles saying whatever you want them to.

Way more noise and less signal. Shitty shit artificially trends.

is it like the once respected brands, the brand name bought up, and now cheaping out and outsourcing the production and selling crap by the millions worldwide. people still buy the brand, because of commercials and lack of available alternatives.

usually they sell the same thing over and over, just a slightly different design. lack of alternatives means every one of their movies has to suck, because then the totally shit movies will be almost equally as good, and it would raise the bar and make future production more expensive.
