The Manson family either tried to warn or jumpstart us on a race war scenario called 'helter skelter' and the concept as he would have known it was not so far from the truth.

Manson was an associate of the Aryan Brotherhood from his multiple stints in prison. He knew from personal experience that being a racial minority, like whites in jail at that time, meant that large scale factionalization would follow along ethnic lines. Helter Skelter was more than anything based on what he saw with his own eyes extrapolated on the whole of the country. Im not so sure how smart he was but Manson wasn't an idiot, and the LSD he took may have helped him be able to think abstractly enough to see the tends he experienced in his own life.
