So please entertain some of these thoughts and tell me what you think. plane 30 to 60,000 feet should be able to see sun if earth flat. Is there some kind of horizon continental divide? Airplane pilot flying south look to the right it is dark, look to the left it is day? Sun rotating around pan, what creates the dark part? Distance? A light in the dark is very difficult to hide, unless a shadow lays on it, something has to create that shadow. Moon landing has a lot of fluffed up fake videos, they fluff up everything they do with their propaganda. And what's up with jet lag?

As for shadows and why you can't see the Sun or why the 'sun sets'. The sun is much much smaller than the Earth (supposedly only 33 miles in circumference) so as it rotates away from your perspective that's how you have night. While there is proof that you can see objects much farther away than should be possible, the atmosphere acts as your 'buffer/divide' and as far as I know of, there are no experiments showing how far away you can see the sun while at 30k up. I'm sure NASA does.

The majority of flat earthers that I’ve chatted to encourage people to do their own research and use (or develop) logic and critical thinking to work through questions as they arise. Some things work on both models, some do not. But what we see and experience every single day is a flat and motionless existence with lights in the sky that come and go in a regular schedule.

No, I didn’t assume, I just didn’t believe you - I’m not under any obligation to believe you, or anyone, on the internet.

I tested for curvature by checking the distance of an island from my house, finding out my elevation and the height of the island and putting the first two numbers into an earth curve calculator - the island should not be visible! But at both low and high tides, it is. The only time it isn’t is due to weather.

Also the fact that the moon landings were faked, as is the ISS... all this means it’s much, much harder for me to believe in a spherical earth than a flat one!

I don’t care what others do/think/believe, especially in this age of rampant disinfo.

What do you think of the phenomenon of the moonlight being colder than the moon shade?

After reading that at noon on the 21st of June, pillars in the Egyptian town of Syrene cast no shadows, Eratosthenes decided to replicate the scenario in his town of Alexandria. He was perplexed when a stick held vertically there DID cast a shadow at noon.

If the earth was indeed flat, all shadows should be the same, whether created by a pillar in Syrene or a stick in Alexandria. However, if the earth was curved, the shadows would change lengths depending on how far north or south you are, just as Eratosthenes guessed.

To visualize this, imagine a sheet of paper with two toothpicks stuck in it, several inches apart, and a lamp shining down from overhead. Neither toothpick casts a shadow. However, bend the paper at one end, and the tilted toothpick will create a shadow. The more you bend it, the longer the shadow.

You also know that the same scientist was able to accurately guess the size of the ROUND Earth as well know how???

After proving that the earth is round, third century B.C. thinker Eratosthenes had the information he needed to measure the earth’s circumference.

If the earth’s surface was curved, then it had to be shaped much like a ball, meaning a little geometry would lead Eratosthenes to an accurate estimate.

He imagined his two sticks, one in the northern town of Syrene, and one in the southern town of Alexandria, as lines extending downward until they meet at the center of the earth.

Drawing more lines coming straight down to represent sunlight, Eratosthenes moved one stick along the outside of the circle until the shadow it would cast matched the shadow his stick actually made. Now he knew how much of the circle extended between Syrene and Alexandria, about seven degrees.

Needing to know the actual distance from Alexandria to Syrene, Eratosthenes paid camel caravan drivers to go from one town to the other, who reported a distance of 500 miles.

Assuming 500 miles equals 7 degrees of the circle, the whole circle should be 25,000 miles.

Eratosthenes’ answer, deduced with nothing but two sticks and some camels, came within a few percent of the actual circumference.

So basically still today a simple toothpick in the ground at noon can prove the earth is round. Shadows do every day.....

Why would you ask a question like that, completely ignoring that the SUNSET is the sun setting into the horizon, which is something that wouldn't happen if the earth were flat?

I'm sure the answer is that it's not the exact same time, but very close to it. And that the huge distance between you and the horizon is such a greater distance than you and the person at ground level that the difference is minute.

But ohhhh you're going to somehow point at that, all the while ignoring that the sun isn't supposed to be setting AT ALL on a flat Earth model, it's supposed to be circling around.. it wouldn't set it would just get smaller as it circles around and wouldn't even completely disappear... Why would it need to be curved on a flat earth? The smallest distance between two points is a straight line, so your example makes zero sense.

If the world was curved, wouldn’t it make sense that the plane would need to keep dipping its nose to remain level to the earth? It doesn’t do this because it doesn’t need to - once the altitude is acheived the plane remains level until its time for the descent to begin... because the earth is flat.

Notice how the longitudinal lines are curved. Especially the further south you go?

That means when flying west or east where on a round earth you are flying in a straight line, on a flat Earth you would be flying in a curved line to take the same exact route. And even more impossible is long international flights for which some you would even run out of fuel in the middle of the ocean.....

Now the plane isn't constantly banking, you can check the flight path by looking out the window, and they pilot surely isn't there to lie to you about what path he took, and surely he is going to take the shortest path. But on a flat Earth he doesn't.

the atmosphere is refracting and ultimately absorbing the sunlight, proportional to distance. on the globe model, when youre circling parallel to the equator then the fixed point you are circling is the north pole. when youre circling over the poles, then the fixed point is on the equator.

it has been demonstrated that blindfolded people cant walk in a straight line, they are always walking in circles, because they dont orient by light sources.
