You can (and should) disable that feature on your mobile phone.

Much like the current trend of 'Selfies', 'tagging' yourself at a location was a popular social media meme a few years ago. It's one thing to say you're somewhere, but why physically send a location based tag? Who's tracking this?

I am sceptical about the 'selfie' thing in the same way. It's already a given that apps and such can access a phones camera and mic at any time, also, if they're tying to build a database of every single person on their network, what better way than to have people willing upload a nice current front facing picture?
