Internet was made by normal people who quit. Modern internet is made by fucking corporations, like any mass media are. In the beginning, internet was made by enthusiasts who had free time, like programmers and students. Or even basement dwellers. Today nobody normal can have an accessible site. Remember Netscape, AltaVista, Lycos, Excite, AskJeeves. All these search engines were taken down, and now all we have are fucking corporations who control internet entirely.

The inventor of the internet has promoted mewe as the alternative to facebook privacy and censorship concerns. I migrated to mewe, and am shutting facebook down. I would like to see the myspace fate for facebook.

For a while Netscape was based on Firefox, so if you're sentimental to Netscape, use Firefox lol. I like Firefox and always have since Netscape… yahoo ruined AltaVista, that site sometimes was the way to go when looking for specific things like codes or game roms etc. definitely is missed! Lycos got bought for like 94 million then ruined then sold for like 34 million after trying to focus on media too soon in my opinion. US$6.7 billion merger of Excite and @Home Network in 1999 in which a ton of money was lost in only a few years, but jeeves did buy excite in 2004. Jeeves is still around, that guys always been kinda annoying to me. lol..
