My daughters 7th grade classes do exactly this.. they have Chromebooks and use one of two cloud offerings Google classrooms and the other is something like moogle or some crap I forget the name now.

Uh maybe because the whole technology sector is one giant bait and switch? Well yeah of course it's good when they first introduce it! But don't be surprised when it suddenly starts screwing everybody up towards whatever (((they))) are pushing a few years from now, which will no double be worse than what's getting pushed today.

Young children spending the bulk of their school day in front of a screen is a terrible idea. It's bad in so many ways.
