They are treating Boeing like a business partner who just like them are above the law. I'm just glad after 50 years of knowing it, now others are finally getting onboard. If the US Gov creates a treaty for example, all they do is vote in the next batch of liars and make a law dissolving that treaty. I have documented proof and their own admission of guilt and they still do not go to jail.

Two crashes does not make criminal culpability. It makes a probable design flaw. Not criminal.

  1. This is the entire reason incorporation exists to protect the individual people working at a company. No one would ever take a job if they were going to be personally arrested for any accident or anything that went wrong. Corporations are considered an entity for this very reason, so that if something happens or there is a faulty product, you sue the corporation not individuals. Still if you can prove that a specific individual criminally hid data or covered up the problem on purpose then you could prosecute, but good luck proving that (see tobacco industry cases). There are bad drugs that get released, car and plane accidents, food poisoning, etc and in pretty much none of the cases are individuals arrested for those things. You sue the corp for damages and if its bad enough you'll end up owning the corp or shutting it down.

  2. Software is enormously complex. Even with all the good practices and testing, bugs and logical errors still get through. This is why every single piece of software you've ever used has a EULA or agreement that says in a nutshell the software is provided AS IS, and they are not responsible for any flaws. And if someone doesn't like it then don't use the software or the product. Because there is no way to make sure software is 100% flawless for all life's variables and complications.

While this is a very sad and unfortunate situation of a flawed product, its certainly not the first and won't be the last. Boeing will probably be sued and maybe even penalized by government. But unless someone can prove Bob the QA guy covered up data and approved it when he knew it was wrong, no one is going to be arrested.

Do doctors get arrested when someone dies during surgery? No. Fuck off.

Has anyone from Tesla been arrested due to autopilot deaths?

y000danon

Nope. They lost some contracts but the serious wtf come when you see the stock going up.

What. The. Fuck.

Inner the defense contractors have High Frequency Trade contingency plans in place to wait for things like this so they can consolidate share ratios while also projecting strength.

How could they not? Would love to see who was fearlessly buying

Stock buy backs allow the price to go up infinitely. This problem was exasperated by near 0% interest rates during Obama.

Borrow money at 0% interest. Buy back sold stock with the money. Sell old stock at the new price to pay off the loan.
