If they delete without any type of discussion, barring blatant rules violation within reason, what kind of information are they censoring if they are involved in real world work to “make” their studies viable where they would otherwise fail?

This has been happening for over a decade... And basically since the beginning of academia. This is not new; disconnect from the system. Be self reliant and build your own communities.
