When I was a kid, I thought that monarchy was something amazing. I imagined these people who were above all the rest of citizens, capable to unleash their will to the whole population. Now I know that this is bullshit. Monarchs are just brainless puppets, obeying orders from fucked up assholes. They can be rich, but they must take it up their asses the whole time. When I see demented brits or japs worshipping their useless and brainless monarchs, the sight becomes cringeworthy.

Monarchy is just the ultimate refinement of gangsterism. A warlord succeeds in creating a system stable enough to enable his son to take over power after he dies. In a few generations you have a monarchy. North Korea is well on its way to a monarchy. So is Cuba.

One decent argument for Monarchy that I've read, is that if a monarch fucks shit up, he and his family might be killed for it. Democratically elected representatives can sew rotten seeds and duck out before the bill comes due.

Agreed. But ultimately we've got the same problem with "democratically" elected leaders. They're still bought & paid for by the international bankers, and take it up the ass just as much. Only difference being the people are somewhat happier because they "chose" their overlord.

That happens here, too. Lots of career politicians. Sure our president gets changed out every 8yrs at maximum, but can we really say the reigns of power have really changed hands? I'd argue that every president from Hussein, back to Dubya Jr, to Rapist Bill, Dubya Sr, and on back to at least the 20's has been bought & paid for by the same international banking interests.

In the event of the President no longer holding that office, if the remaining time in his term is 2 years or less, it doesn't count as a "term" for purposes of term limits for whoever gets it (typically the VP, but I'm trying to generalize here, as it is possible for it to be someone else).

The problems with hereditary monarchy are that you get one ruler for several shitty ones , you can often end up with a foreigner on the throne and after centuries of inbreeding to "keep it in the family" you get a series of mongrels like the Hapsburgs .
