They wanna give away their product for free not out of any altruistic bent but because they use the forward facing camera on your phone to take snapshots of your face while you read an article or watch a video to gague your response.

Think of recent explosive fronts in digitization. There is AI and GPU used in bitcoin mining. They're interrelated. As far as it makes sense to me they paid people to look at still shots of people reading articles to gague reactions to one word over another and used a scale to determine what the reader was thinking. Now this isn't going to work for everyone but if its aggregated enough advertisers can get an idea of what topics make people angry, how much, etc., and the people would eventually he automated out of the process by machine learning. You only need graphics processors and AI to figure out what articles will result in what response.
