I've wondered about this for a while. There wasn't any fuckery involved (or at least none documented)? IOW: it was, generally speaking, as stated historically?

Well, that knocks out everything WW2 and later for sure. WW1 is out too.

The revolutionary war and the war of 1812 would fit, although IIRC 1812 was less about attacks on US soil at first and more over forced conscription of US sailors into the Britbong navy.

The whiskey rebellion was against the corruptocracy, so it fits. Sadly, the wrong side won.
