Conspiracy folks noticed the censorship more than general population. If you just go to reddit to look at cat photos, think TPP is a free trade agreement and don't care at all about mid-east political issues then there is a good chance you are saying "what censorship?".

the JTRIG type trolling of r/conspiracy and reddit in general was the main impetus for voat.

I was subbed to /r/conspiracy several years ago and unsubbed because every other topic was about "those evil jews or "blah blah blah 9/11". It was more satirical than actual conspiracy content.

R/Conspiracy had a wave of people come over to this site when it was called "Whoaverse".

Actual science tends to be ignored or ridiculed.

Obfuscation and willful ignorance serves to derail conversation.

Heck, I just had some genius try to claim that EMR had nothing to do with EMF. EMF can mean electromagnetic force or fields; both of which tie in with electromagnetic radiation.

That level of ignorance is impossible to lift someone out of, if they are kicking and screaming to stay put.

/r/consiracy was early in directing people to voat, that is all.

Maybe there's some sort of conspiracy to manipulate all of us. Post fake conspiracies to VOAT while the real conspiracies go unnoticed.
