When I was watching the 2016 election I thought "we'll know how much the deep state really controls things if Trump wins and we still go to war with Iran." I was pretty sure that Hillary was going to get right on it if she won.

If they are going to start it they want it to start right before an election because an incumbent rarely loses when a war has just started.
