There is no way this is true.

The Kursk had something like 22 survivors reported but they couldn't be reached due to the depths, and time-frame needed to rescue.

The Russians even raised a portion of the Kursk, and dry-docked it. - Photo here

A nuke would have completely crushed that thing like a beer can had one gone off at close range.

Admiral Popov's sudden departure from the fleet could have been in response to him advising the Kremlin he was under nuclear attack, then being ordered not to retaliate.
