1) Oil. It needs to be phased out as a fuel source to begin with, and we have plenty for years with the fields we have now.

2) The environmental impact, especially drilling in a place as fragile as the fucking ice caps.

3) Corporations lining the pockets of politicians and foreign governments to be able to get permission to do things like this in the first place.

If I had to guess most of the people here are from r\conspiracy and are used to posting stuff like this in the conspiracy section because it would get deleted in the news section and stuff on reddit. Old habits are hard to break.
