Hong Kong is to China what Syria is to Russia! HK is being used to provoke the dragon just as Syria was to provoke the Bear.

Its more like Ukraine, where you have two people that are historically united being weaponized with a new Westernized in identity. In the same sense the US-UK want to use Hong Kong as a base of agitation against China, like what they do in Ukraine against Russia.

Agreed. Ukraine is a better example. But Syria represents a major strategic asset for the Russian Military- not to mention like the the Ukraine its on the Russian doorstep.
