we needed to know, to develop countermeasures and detection methods. only through a superior more formidable program can we shield our people from our enemies. if you just leave people be, they are vulnerable. its like vaccines, you need something in there ready for when they encounter hostile foreign manipulation. and one that does not just reject it, but makes the subject go against the source and those who have been infected by it. better the people be in our program than theirs, isnt that the lesser of two evils. what is the alternative? weave through the dark and pray?

it just surprises me that that is my honest opinion on the matter when long ago it would have to be the total opposite. i would have been outraged maybe, but though i still see the viciousness i also see now the necessity.
