Try milk at Aldis. I noticed the same thing with big box and larger grocers. Aldis has been very good.

KEVDOG77

get a goat drink straight from the teat.

Monkeyshinerbot3000

It's the extra flouride that goes in it. Makes it taste bad.

Panic-Now1

Do what we did: There is something called "A2" milk out there. As I understand it, it comes from brown cows (with whom humans long evolved and is digestible) instead of from the black and white cows (which were a mutation in Europe a few thousand years ago and whose milk causes allergies and worse). A2 milk has a shelf life of about 2 months. MONTHS! Regular milk lasts a week or two, tops. No more dairy allergies in my family.

downton-stabby

I wonder if I'm drinking A2 from the organic local farm paper cartons that seem to work well. The expiration date is a lot longer than the regular milk. I'll look into it.

i_scream_trucks

we went through this years ago.

used to love milk when i was a kid. to this day one of those old milk ads with the glass of milk in the fridge with condensate dribbling off it makes me incredibly thirsty but it tastes like shit now.

i remember going to france way back in 96, i noticed a massive difference between our fresh and the UHT they used there. the UHT seemed a bit funkier plus sweetend.

now we have a lot of UHT and normal bottled and it all tastes the fucking same.

bezzy

If you find yourself across the border in Canada I’d be interested to see how we compare. We take a maybe unfounded pride in our dairy production, stricter regulations, apparently.

downton-stabby

I'll give it a try sometime if I'm up there.

JacobJaredKenworthy

I haven't noticed anything. I drink about 1/3 gallon of whole milk every day.

Linkmyboy

I just want milk that tastes like real milk

grandmacaesar

Bovine growth hormones. Many dairy producers say they don't use it...but check the asterisk on the packaging.

Themooninthesky

Find a local dairy. They are out there but hard to find. Trust me.

VOALTRON

You are correct about milk spoiling before its expiration date. I'm real sensitive to the taste of milk, and all my life I could tell when milk wast nearing it's expiration date, 2-3 days before the marked date. Even so, it was usually still drinkable 2-3 days after it's expiration date.

In the last couple of years I have seen numerous jugs of milk turn rancid before it's expiration date, even to the point of having lots of chunks in it. Pisses me off so bad.

I used to always buy the older milk off store the shelves, because I drink it fast, and it never goes to waste. Now, I always have to buy the freshest milk, and I have to finish it 2-3 days before its expiration date, or else it tastes like shit. Something changed, and I don't like it!

downton-stabby

Have you tried the organic from local farms? That worked for me.

i_scream_trucks

you guys do your coffee different to us too, we put milk in ours, milk going bad tends to i dunno... clump together a bit i guess you could say before it all er... dissolves

AO28-1

Haven't bought plain milk in years. Half and half seems to be OK, and I look forward to eggnog being available on October 15.

SIayfire122

I'm already looking for it on the shelves. Also, sometimes you can find eggnog during the spring with Easter logos on it.

kevlarrr

Maybe it's because the FDA allows more pus now. http://notmilk.com/pusmilk.html

Rellik88

Links to a PETArd site....

beefartist

Don't be a faggot, you can't taste it

kevlarrr

You will now! ahahahahahahaha

get raw A2 milk from a grass-fed jersey/guernsey dairy farmer.

1031grnis

Sheer heaven drinking raw grass-fed guernsey milk. Drinking store-bought milk, even full fat, tastes like water after that.

dan_k

Yep, I noticed the exact same thing. Fucking hate it.

Roughpatch

You ever been to a dairy? The milk gets graded before the milk truck loads it. The best grade A is for milk, which is most valuable, each grade after that is used for cheese, yogurt and such and doesn't pay as much.

If a cow comes in with infection the milk is kept separate but there is always the chance of missing infection and it gets in the tank. That costs the farmers lots of money because it lowers the grade. Some Dairy farmers are (cheap labor)on their farms which are milking huge amount of cows three times a day. They give the cows meds. Oxytosin to produce more milk for more money. Antibiotics, feces, piss, unwashed teets, dirty parlors. What could go wrong? Not saying all milk producers arent practicing safe guards, but pretty sure the bigger they are the more human error incidents occur.

Take your fresh milk home, boil it, don't burn it, remove the scum off the top, let it cool put in clean container (not the one it came in) glass perferably, then put in frig.

Mr_Quagmire

Humans are the only animals on this planet that drink milk after infancy.

Rellik88

Thank god, or humans would of never reached the level we have today.

If we didnt drink milk you or I would not be alive today.

Ken_bingo2

Ignorant downvoater does not appreciate the historical importance of dairy. You are correct.

Barfin

also best animal that is most in charge

Witsend

Rather Inconvenient for all of the other animals.

FreeRebel

Not really. Don't fail to account for all the animals whose lives are prolonged by our protection and husbandry.

Witsend

The tit dries up after infancy, and nature has yet to show me interbreed nursing beyond that point as well. I'm sticking with Inconvenient at best.

Not_a_redfugee

I switched to Fairlife milk. Lasts longer, tastes better. More expensive though.

WORF_MOTORBOATS_TROI

Iisnt that the one owned by pepsi or something?

Not_a_redfugee

I'm not sure but it tastes great

mostlyfriendly

Go with raw milk from a local co-op.

HarveyHarveyJones

It is more expensive because that is what it takes to support your local farmer. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL FARMER.

drakesdoom2

If your egg nog ever goes bad you didn't have enough alcohol in it.

QualityShitposter

Have you tried cartons instead of jugs? I hate the taste of jug milk.

FSHLLtOW

WHAT! You've got to be kidding me! The BEST place to get milk is right from the Jugs! Lol!

QualityShitposter

Dammit. You're right. What was I thinking?

FSHLLtOW

Hahaha!

downton-stabby

The organic milk I'm stuck buying comes in cartons. The half and half (that isn't organic) comes in cartons as well. Perhaps that's part of it.

parnellsUprising

Check if there is home-delivery service from a local dairy near you. The quality is much better, and they use glass so they can re-use the bottles

downton-stabby

TL;DR Milk used to smell and taste better, but now the majority of it is slightly sour. Local organic whole milk seems to be unaffected
