this kind of bailout makes more sense. we shouldn't sell any good to china. yeah ok so farmers here lose money if they can't do so. Ok give them some of that free fiat money to make up for it. Win win. Now with auto companies, fuck them. They make shitty cars in america and ones from japan are better which is just embarassing. Make better cars that don't break down and more people will buy them and you won't need a bailout.

This tells half the story, neglecting to mention the well more than $100 billion Trump has recovered so far in direct tariff payments from China. China is one paying for these subsidies, and Trump is turning a tidy profit. Trump can afford to subsidize the farmers for however long it takes to fix the imbalances in the Chinese trade.

This is just like the wall. The media focuses on the cost of building the wall, (easily covered by those same tariffs,) while ignoring the thousand fold return on money saved by not having to deal will all of the extra costly immigrants who would have entered without it.

Liberals cannot actually count. If they could, they would no longer be liberals. That's also why they think money doesn't matter, and all of the jurisdictions they control go into bankruptcy. They spend a good portion of their time trying to steal other people's money, and have little understanding of what it takes to actually create new wealth.

This is why Liberals always fail in government, and it is also why the Globalists have failed as well. To be effective in government you first of all have to be able to count correctly. Counting is perhaps the most important role of government. Governments that cannot do the math cannot govern effectively.

This is also the fatal flaw with socialism in general.

Social policies that are actually based on solid accounting are a good thing. Marxist social policy is not mathematically sound, and that is why it always fails no matter how well intentioned the participants.

There is no such thing as true, free market capitalism.

And the people who point to Venezuela as an example of the "failures of socialism" are fools.

In truth, every country on this planet operates under only barely distinguishable shades of Fascism.
