the climate movement is not much different from a religious movement. the effects and what it sells to its members is that feeling of being good and doing good, a feeling that really may be worth the money that they fork as compensation. dont you want to feel like you saved humanity and the planet for a few bucks every month? plus, you get to look down and shame other people for not being like you. that alone might be worth it already for some to join the green craze.
