Don't let them pull the same shit as they did on Reddit - they successfully radicalized a lot of people over there to believe that corporate-funded pseudoscience is the "one true science" and we should all blindly accept it (that's what they consider "skepticism" also).

The only GMO I know of that has any use to me is GMO American Chestnut tree...

That said, my biggest contention is that GMO v. Organic is the wrong argument. Perrenial polycultures v. Annual monocultures is where I see the resource revolution happening.

Biomimicry and agroecology. Drop all this anthropocentric bullocks. We need systems that self-manage and self-perpetuate abundance. Not the conventional petroag we have currently.

Also, anti-GMO liberals have done the big bad corporations like Dupont and Bayer a big old favor in increasing regulation costs to levels that the smaller, independent competition couldn't afford.

So chew on that irony.

I've said this before but I think the issue some people are missing is what exactly they are modifying these organism to do. Like you said, a cure or a zombie. But mostly I think the issue is that little modification that makes 'certain' plants resistant to 'certain' pesticides. And maybe that certain pesticide is the only one both effective and widely available. So when it comes to that ancient Mexican corn or some other organism that is not genetically modified to resist certain pesticides, it makes it really tough to stay in business without buying the same plants that the pesticide company sells. I may also be a dumbass, the jury is still out.

Yeah it is. You can spot them in this thread about false advertising . There are 3 or 4 that get totally rabid, change the subject to defend gmo's, try all the talking points, then resort to attacks and disinfo. I'm pretty sure least one smartass soiled himself over it. It was pretty amusing to watch them freak out and defend a poison company like they were paying their bills.

I don't know enough to follow what is weird in there...something seems off but I'm not sure what is.

Indeed, it is painfully obvious who these people are and what their motivations are. Sigh.. astro-turfing is not the worst thing that people have done in an attempt to keep//gain wealth, it sure is a same though..

I like that voat is invite only, for the time being I am enjoying the exclusivity.

It at least somewhat limits the flood of shills
